Research

My current research examines methodological and pedagogical frameworks through qualitative empirical inquiry. Recent work investigates the implications of agentic AI in UX practice and the safeguards that ensure better design and learning outcomes.

A Pedagogical Shift in Applying Design Thinking in the Age of Agentic AI: Reexamining the Double Diamond in UX Education

As agentic AI enables UX practitioners to prototype with working code from the outset and consolidate Design Thinking's sequential phases, this study deconstructs the Double Diamond, audits agentic AI capabilities, evaluates AAI-assisted workflows through student experiments, and synthesizes findings with Bloom's Taxonomy for the Digital Age to construct the Design Astrolabe, a new framework for advancing UX design education and practice.

Examining AI Automation in Qualitative User Data Analysis through Research Through Design (RtD) Methodology

This paper employs a Research Through Design methodology with nine UX graduate researchers to examine how GenAI-assisted qualitative data analysis affects researchers' perceptions and workflows compared with manual data analysis, finding that AI categorizes data more reliably than it interprets latent meaning—making human oversight essential for partnering with AI.
